The shelf

14 machines, grouped by what they do

Every one is rented with installation, servicing and the first 1,000 drinks included, and switched on at the showroom if you want to try it.

Machines for spaces nobody staffs: canteens, receptions, warehouses and sites that run around the clock. Vitro grinds fresh beans and, on the X1 MIA, foams fresh milk; Matrix serves instant coffee, chocolate and specials at high speed from a small footprint; Flavia brews from sealed packs so there is nothing to clean between a coffee and a tea. All installed and serviced by our own engineers, most with cashless payment available.

Three ways to brew

Fresh beans, instant, or sealed packs?

Decide this first. It sets the cup, the speed, the running cost and how much cleaning there is, and it narrows 9 drinks machines to two or three.

  1. Fresh beansGround to orderA grinder inside the machine, so every cup starts from whole beans. The best coffee of the three; the X1 MIA adds fresh milk foam.From£15.60/week5 machines
  2. InstantBuilt for a queueSoluble coffee, chocolate and specials whipped in seconds, 240 drinks an hour from a machine 17 cm wide. The lowest running cost, and the Quattro takes contactless.From£10/week3 machines
  3. Sealed packsOne pack, one drinkLavazza coffee, real-leaf tea and Cadbury chocolate each brewed from its own sealed pack, so tea after a latte tastes of tea and there is almost nothing to clean.From£13/week1 machine

Day to day

How a self-service machine runs

Four things to settle before the machine arrives. None of them is difficult, and we survey the site first so the quote already allows for them.

  1. Paying for drinks

Run it free-vend, or charge. The Matrix Quattro takes contactless cards out of the box and most of the others accept an MDB payment system. We set it up either way.

  2. Water

Mains-fed where there is a supply within two metres. The Vitro S1 and the Flavia take a hand-fill tank, and the Matrix machines come in a pumped version, so a site with no plumbing is not a problem.

  3. Ingredients and cups

Beans, vending milk, chocolate, Flavia packs, cups and lids come from the same account, next working day across London. Order by 2pm.

  4. Servicing and restocking

Our own engineers install, service and fix every machine here, with breakdown cover in the weekly price. Ask about a stocked-and-cleaned service for unstaffed sites.

Everything that goes in the machine is on one account with it. See the supplies

Good to know

Questions we get asked

The questions buyers put to us before they order. If yours is not here, call and someone who knows the answer will pick up.

What is the difference between a vending machine and a bean to cup machine?

Mostly who uses it. Bean to cup machines are made for an office kitchen; these are built for self-service in unattended spaces, with lockable canisters, higher throughput and optional payment systems.

Can staff be charged for drinks?

Yes. The Matrix Quattro takes contactless payment, and several machines are MDB compatible so a payment system can be fitted.

Do vending machines need plumbing in?

Most run mains-fed, though several are available in pumped or hand-fill versions. We check the site before we quote.
